Thursday 1st September..
its a ‘hoedown’ special in the Lounge this time around.
Time to dust off your dancin boots and sort out that check shirt.
Two live bands playing all your favourite cover songs in two very different styles.
First up ‘Hillbilly Jukebox’, classic pop and rock covers played in a redneck style.
The main act are Derby favourites ‘Southbound’.. a kicking five piece band who play a lively mixture of Country Rock and Americana.
Think Austin Texas not Nashville. It’s music with an edge and a backbeat that rocks. Talented, multi-instrumentalists playing great songs
with classy three part harmonies and tasty solos. Songs by the likes of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, Old Crow Medicine Show
and Hank Williams with some Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry and blistering bluegrass banjo solos thrown in for good measure. Classic Honky Tonk!

Opening our Summer show are local act ‘The Hardy Band’, new to the scene but already making a name on the Americana circuit with their Country, Folk and Bluegrass inspired songs. Its a first time in the Lounge for this 5 piece outfit but we have a feeling it won’t be the last.
Next up we have ‘Magic Car’, now playing as a 3 piece and serving up plates full of original Americana. Based just up the M1 in Notts these guys are signed to ‘Tiny Dog Records’. Both the bands albums have been well received with Radio 2s Bob Harris giving them high praise and air play.
Rounding off the night, your host OCR. Its a set full of the sounds and grooves from those north hills of Mississippi. Its blues that never went to Chicago..
